Week 4 Report
s the war for the Nemesis Crown enters a new phase, the Dwarfs of Thorgrim Ironfist are in the ascendant, winning many great victories and perhaps even closing in on the location of the Crown itself. But others win honours, too, notably the Bretonnians and the Wood Elves, whose own objectives are furthered with every battle they win.
Other armies find themselves facing defeat if they cannot redouble their efforts or brook new alliances. The Men of the Empire find themselves in debt to the Bretonnians, without whose aid many regions would have slipped into the hands of the forces of darkness, who would then have had free reign to scour the woodlands for the lost Crown.
Meanwhile, others still languish on the brink of disaster. The Beasts of Chaos and the Orcs & Goblins have suffered many terrible defeats. Yet, even as they lick their wounds, fell minds hatch terrible plans of bloodshed and conquest, and once more the forests shall burn and the rivers run red with the blood of those who would possess the Nemesis Crown.Vampire Counts
Waldikir's plans are proceeding apace, with his Undead hordes swelling and his personal power base growing steadily. Vampires are creatures of primal instinct, each acutely aware of his place in the race's hierarchy. Waldikir is at present high in that hierarchy, and his rivals diminished to the point of silence.
The Vampire Counts fighting under Waldikir's banner are in possession of the majority of the Howling Heights , the keening winds carrying the fearful baying of Dire Wolves for many leagues across the Great Forest . The armies have been swollen to mighty hordes of Zombies, each a recently reanimated slain enemy soldier. In the Great Confluence, the army of the mysterious Queen Charlotte has won a great many victories, causing her enemies to fear the darkness and what may lurk within it.
Yet, the ancient Waldikir does not rest on his laurels. He knows that even as his armies crush their foes, so his rivals plot and scheme behind his back. Waldikir ensures that only his most loyal (or rather too brain dead to care) servants know the location of his lair beneath the Howling Heights . He knows too that should he show any sign of weakness, another Vampire will strike. So he makes his own plots and schemes, his ancient and impenetrable mind discerning every possible outcome of the war, seeking to gain advantage no matter the outcome.
