Week 4 Report
s the war for the Nemesis Crown enters a new phase, the Dwarfs of Thorgrim Ironfist are in the ascendant, winning many great victories and perhaps even closing in on the location of the Crown itself. But others win honours, too, notably the Bretonnians and the Wood Elves, whose own objectives are furthered with every battle they win.
Other armies find themselves facing defeat if they cannot redouble their efforts or brook new alliances. The Men of the Empire find themselves in debt to the Bretonnians, without whose aid many regions would have slipped into the hands of the forces of darkness, who would then have had free reign to scour the woodlands for the lost Crown.
Meanwhile, others still languish on the brink of disaster. The Beasts of Chaos and the Orcs & Goblins have suffered many terrible defeats. Yet, even as they lick their wounds, fell minds hatch terrible plans of bloodshed and conquest, and once more the forests shall burn and the rivers run red with the blood of those who would possess the Nemesis Crown.Skaven
Ever since rumours of a Warpstone helm crafted by the despised Dwarfs reached the ears of the Council of Thirteen, the Skaven have been intent on locating the Nemesis Crown. At first, orders from the Council were to simply find it, so that, in the fullness of time, they might steal it away and bring it back to Skavenblight – after all, the Warpstone that the Crown was made from was stolen from them by the demented Runesmith, Alaric, or so some on the Council claim. However, as the many Skaven spies have witnessed the armies of the Old World and beyond clash and fight in the Great Forest , the malign intelligence of the Skaven leadership has decided on a change of tact. Skaven agents have observed Karl Franz' desire to claim the Nemesis Crown. The Council know that should the Emperor wear the Crown, then disaster will befall his lands, and the Skaven Under-empire will rise.
To this end, all Skaven armies currently in the Great Forest have been fighting to force fate into delivering the Nemesis Crown into the hands of Karl Franz. Clan Eshin Assassins have already silenced two of the Emperor's advisors who wished to sway the Emperor from claiming the doomed helm, and a number of Sigmarite armies have been defeated at their hands. And even now, Skaven forces fight deep in the Barren Hills as the Grey Seers have foreseen a victory in this territory will advance their foul goal.
Of all the factions fighting for the Nemesis Crown, the Skaven fear the Dwarfs the most, for they know that should that ancient enemy claim back the Crown, it will be hidden away never to be used again. To prevent this, Clan's Eshin and Moulder have sent substantial forces against the Dwarves in the hope of stopping the bearded ones from penetrating any deeper into the forest.
