Week 4 Report
s the war for the Nemesis Crown enters a new phase, the Dwarfs of Thorgrim Ironfist are in the ascendant, winning many great victories and perhaps even closing in on the location of the Crown itself. But others win honours, too, notably the Bretonnians and the Wood Elves, whose own objectives are furthered with every battle they win.
Other armies find themselves facing defeat if they cannot redouble their efforts or brook new alliances. The Men of the Empire find themselves in debt to the Bretonnians, without whose aid many regions would have slipped into the hands of the forces of darkness, who would then have had free reign to scour the woodlands for the lost Crown.
Meanwhile, others still languish on the brink of disaster. The Beasts of Chaos and the Orcs & Goblins have suffered many terrible defeats. Yet, even as they lick their wounds, fell minds hatch terrible plans of bloodshed and conquest, and once more the forests shall burn and the rivers run red with the blood of those who would possess the Nemesis Crown.Lizardmen
The Slann Mage-Priests have stirred and have recognised the Nemesis Crown to be an artefact of such fell power that it could potentially disrupt the plans of the Old Ones. Despite the fighting having gone on for weeks already, the Mage-Priests have been characteristically slow to stir. The Lizardmen have launched a series of attacks against the outlying interests of many races, notably in the Badlands and along the Black Gulf , forcing the redeployment of forces bound for the Great Forest . The mighty Allsar, and Tepuax of Tlaxtlan have both proven Generals of exceptional wisdom and ferocity, earning the notice, however passing, of the Slann Mage-Priests.
Whilst the Slann Mage-Priests have pledged to continue sending Lizardmen armies north, they have also started upon a counter strategy should the worst happen and the Crown falls into the hands of any of the younger races. If they can rouse enough of their ancient Slann brethren in time, they may be able to becalm the Winds of Magic, affecting all the magic users within the Great Forest, and then channel the Winds in such a way to send the Nemesis Crown into the deepest, darkest void where it can never be used by Daemon or mortal again. Already, the Slann have imposed dread nightmares upon the leaders of many armies fighting in the Great Forest , hoping perhaps to plant the seeds of doubt deep within their souls and thereby steer events back towards the plans of the Old Ones.
